Comprehensive guidelines for authors submitting manuscripts to AGE Publications. We strive to make the submission process transparent and accessible while maintaining high academic standards.
We encourage authors to focus on content quality in initial submissions, with reasonable formatting rather than journal-specific styling.
Submissions do not need to be in final publication format at first review, but must include all essential elements (abstract, main text, references, figures/tables with captions, etc.) in a clear and legible manner. Upon acceptance, authors will be required to format the manuscript to adhere to the following guidelines:
Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English (either US or UK spelling is acceptable, but use one consistently). Authors should aim for a scholarly yet accessible tone, explaining domain-specific terminology where necessary for a broad academic readership. We encourage avoiding jargon when possible and using active voice.
Research articles should follow the conventional IMRaD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion) unless the nature of the work warrants a different structure (e.g., for some theoretical or humanities papers). Reviews can be organized with topical subheadings for clarity.
Manuscripts should be prepared in a common word processing format (Microsoft Word is preferred for text; LaTeX is acceptable for math-heavy papers, with an accompanying PDF). Use a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman or Arial) at 11 or 12 pt size, double-spaced text, and consecutively numbered pages and lines (to facilitate peer review feedback). Include continuous line numbers if possible. Use section headings (e.g., 1. Introduction, 2. Methods, etc.) to organize the content.
All figures and tables should be cited in the text and accompanied by descriptive captions. Figures must be of high resolution (preferably 300 dpi or higher for color images) and supplied in separate files upon final submission (acceptable formats: JPEG, PNG, or EPS for line art). Tables should be included in the manuscript file in an editable format (not as images).
Good News: Color figures are welcome and will be published at no cost to authors (as the journal is electronic open-access).
Authors may use any standard citation format for initial submission (as long as it is used consistently and includes necessary information). For final accepted manuscripts, references should be formatted in [Name–Year] style or numerical Vancouver style, as appropriate to the division's norms. All references must be fully verified and updated for accuracy. Use of reference management tools (EndNote, Zotero, etc.) is recommended to manage citations.
Authors should prepare any supplementary files (additional data, appendices, multimedia) to be submitted alongside the manuscript. Large datasets should, where possible, be deposited in an appropriate public repository (with an accession/link provided in the manuscript). If data deposition is not feasible, authors are expected to honor reasonable requests for data from readers after publication, provided sharing is in line with ethical and legal standards.
A cover letter must accompany each submission, briefly introducing the study's significance and fit for the journal (specify which AGE Journal division is targeted, if not obvious). The cover letter should also disclose any potential conflicts of interest and confirm that the manuscript (or substantial parts of it) has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
For convenience, author templates and detailed style guides will be made available (Word templates for article formatting, LaTeX classes, etc.). While not mandatory for initial submission, using the template can ease final formatting.
By maintaining flexible initial formatting expectations, we aim to reduce the burden on authors and focus on the merit of the research. However, adherence to these formatting guidelines in the final submission is required to ensure a polished and professional publication.
We strive to make the submission process to AGE Journals as smooth and transparent as possible.
Manuscripts must be written in clear English (American or British usage is acceptable, but be consistent). Authors should format their paper according to our template or style guide, which outlines structure (e.g., Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion), citation format, and figure/table requirements.
A cover letter should accompany each submission, briefly introducing the work, its significance, and why it fits the scope of the chosen AGE journal. Authors may also suggest suitable expert reviewers and may list any non-preferred reviewers (with reasons) if there are conflicts of interest.
All manuscripts must be submitted via our online submission portal. Each AGE Journal has a dedicated submission link on our website; authors will be guided to the correct portal based on their chosen journal.
Start SubmissionDuring submission, authors should provide full affiliation details and contact information. We strongly encourage all authors to include their ORCID iD to facilitate unambiguous attribution of their work and integration with indexing services.
Authors will be prompted to list sources of research funding, and any acknowledgments of assistance or previous presentations of the work should be noted. This transparency helps ensure proper credit and compliance with funder open access mandates.
If the research includes extensive datasets, video files, code, or other supplemental content, authors can submit these as Supplementary Materials. Such materials will be published alongside the article as downloadable files.
